Super Bowl Sunday

Like most Americans, I watched the Super Bowl on Sunday. I was rooting for Green Bay, but only because everyone else I was with was doing the same. While it was a very exciting game with funny commercials and interesting performances, I couldn't help but be a little sad that the Saints weren't playing in it this year. And i know two Super Bowls in a row might have been too good to be true - buttttt, it still would have been nice! Last year's Super Bowl was one of the most fun nights I have ever had and I can't help but reminisce!

And dressing up for the big game was pretty fun as well!

There's always next year!

Who got da baby????

I'm going home this weekend and there are a lot of things I am looking forward to doing! But without question I am most excited about finally getting a piece of delicious King Cake! King Cakes are seasonal in New Orleans - they become available on Twelfth Night (January 6) and are sold throughout the Mardi Gras season (which ends the day before Ash Wednesday).
There's a lot more to the King Cake then just it's taste. King Cakes have purple, green, and gold icing or sugar to represent the Mardi Gras colors. Each King Cake has a tiny plastic baby that is placed inside one of the pieces. Whoever finds the baby supposedly has good luck for the following year and holds the next King Cake party (simply, they must buy the next one).

Monday Morning Blues

It's Monday morning, and sadly the weather has returned to being cold, wet, and rainy. Our warm weekend weather was short lived to say the least, but it did manage to get me very excited to start looking for some new spring essentials - most notably, new swimsuits! My friends and I will be traveling to Jamaica in a few weeks, where it is currently a sizzling 82 degrees! So i've been shopping online for new swimsuits, and here are some cute ones that I've come across.
I absolutely love the color of the Cross Currents Bikini from Anthropologie
I love the look of ruffles on swimsuits, and the Zaza Stripe Bikini with Ruffles from Marc by Marc Jacobs is no exception!
They have so many cute one-pieces these days, like the Elephant Ears Maillot swimsuit from Anthropologie

Gleek Out

It's been more than a month since a new episode of Glee has aired and I have to say....I'm getting antsy! Glee is one of my favorite shows and is something I look forward to every week! Only a few more days...

Sweet Tooth

I've always had a bit of a sweet tooth. I love everything and anything that is chocolate, has cookie dough, or involves reese's. Usually when one of these cravings set in, I head down to the grocery store and pick up a package of cookie dough or a fun-sized bag of reese's. But tonight is different. I have some free time tonight, so I have decided to bake something. These are some of the desserts I found that sound scrumptious!
Oreo-Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies, Bon Appetit Magazine
I've never seen a better combination!

I'm a huge fan of red velvet cake and love the idea of these
Red Velvet Bar's from The Food Network.

Now for the Grand Finale....

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip!!!
I'm pretty sure this dip would send me into the worst food-coma ever, but i am more than willing to try it out! Thanks to HowSweetEats.com for this incredible recipe!

A pretty, pretty day

Finally - It's 70 degrees outside and sunny! After all the snow and rain we have received in the past few weeks, I couldn't have asked for a better day. And the perfect way to spend this day -- hanging out on the blue house porch!

"Snowpocalypse"

I usually dread the thought of coming back to school after Christmas break. Sitting in a classroom has no comparison to being home with my friends and family. But nevertheless, I made the long trek back to Athens last Saturday, just in time to start classes. But lucky for me, "Snowpocalypse" set in just in time to delay the start of spring semester!

And now, three incredibly fun snow days later, I will admit that I kind of, sort of, maybeee am ready to start school.
