Super Bowl Sunday

Like most Americans, I watched the Super Bowl on Sunday. I was rooting for Green Bay, but only because everyone else I was with was doing the same. While it was a very exciting game with funny commercials and interesting performances, I couldn't help but be a little sad that the Saints weren't playing in it this year. And i know two Super Bowls in a row might have been too good to be true - buttttt, it still would have been nice! Last year's Super Bowl was one of the most fun nights I have ever had and I can't help but reminisce!

And dressing up for the big game was pretty fun as well!

There's always next year!

Who got da baby????

I'm going home this weekend and there are a lot of things I am looking forward to doing! But without question I am most excited about finally getting a piece of delicious King Cake! King Cakes are seasonal in New Orleans - they become available on Twelfth Night (January 6) and are sold throughout the Mardi Gras season (which ends the day before Ash Wednesday).
There's a lot more to the King Cake then just it's taste. King Cakes have purple, green, and gold icing or sugar to represent the Mardi Gras colors. Each King Cake has a tiny plastic baby that is placed inside one of the pieces. Whoever finds the baby supposedly has good luck for the following year and holds the next King Cake party (simply, they must buy the next one).
